My Jamaica Wish List!

Okay, so those of you who have followed my last blog are probably aware of my non-stop gush-fests about going to Negril, Jamaica, next month. Well, the time is drawing near, and I've got to come up with a list of things to bring to make my stay as sexy as humanly possible. So here's the list of stuff I'll be craving for my trip.

You can't hit up sunny Jamaica without having the glowy, smell-good skin. That's why I need to have Nars Body Glow, $59. It's got monoi de tahiti oil which makes you smell amazing, plus it's super shimmery and gives you the most natural glow ever.

Anybody who knows me knows I am a huge fan of Ralph Lauren perfumes. I own all of them (except now for Ralph Rocks--RIP!), and now they have a brand new one called Ralph Wild, $59.50. It's the perfect fragrance I want for a tropical locale, with pink peppercorn and wild strawberries it's girly but it's still got that hardness with sandlewood and musk. Me wanty!

I'm a no-frills girl, and I love a cute sandal. That's why I must have these Old Navy Suede Ankle-Strap Sandals, $19.50. Perfect for walking on the beach or with an adorable, long dress.

A simple bag like this (Old Navy Slouchy Canvas Hobo, $19.50) is perfect for ID, keys, passport, and lipgloss.

I love this clutch, too! (Old Navy Wooden Handle Clutch, $19.50) This would be perfect to carry in the club or at a fancy evening party.

I don't like to show a ton of skin, even at the beach when I'm not swimming, so this Old Navy Open-Knit Swim Coverup, $24.50, would be ideal for me. Plus, I love the hood!

I can't wait to wear this Old Navy Belt, $16.50, to the clubs! Adding a belt cinches your waist and adds to any outfit, and this one is really creative and perfect for me.

I'm not a huge heels person, and I'm definitely not into stilettos. That's why these Old Navy Platform Sandals, $34.50, are my go-to shoe for a cute dress or clubwear.

I'd love to hear you guys' feedback as to what I should pack, some tips for surviving the plane ride (which I'm terrified about--I went to New Orleans when I was a baby but I don't remember it!), and anything else you think I should know.

Peace!
Brittney

Join the Cult!

For those of you who are not as beauty-obsessed as I am, you may not know what a "cult favorite" is. It's basically a product that has a small following, but the few people who buy it are crazy about it. Kind of like Rocky Horror Picture Show or Napoleon Dynamite. So here are a few popular products in the beauty world, and I'm sure as JLo is having twins you'll love them just as much as I do!
  • Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, $17. Once you try this stuff for the first time, you'll understand why it's so popular. If you have breakouts every now and then, this is a great thing for you because it pretty much zaps zits overnight. You just dab a Q-tip in the solution (make sure you get to the pink stuff--it's calamine lotion--and don't ever shake the bottle!) and put it on the offending blemish. Let it dry, and lights out! The next morning, your zit will be gone. Or at least go-ing. I promise.

  • Smith's Rosebud Salve, $6. Many would argue that this stuff is fancy Vaseline, and I would have to agree. Raised in a family where Vaseline is used for everything from hair to getting people's heads unstuck from the banisters, I have to say that Rosebud Salve feels much better on lips. I've also experienced the Vaseline clumping together and looking like some kind of gross glue on my lips--Ew, right?! SRS doesn't do that at all. And you can use this stuff for everything from lips to moisturizing cuticles or keeping brows groomed.

  • Solar Oil, $8. Okay, so in the winter, everything gets dry for me--my hair, my skin, and my cuticles. Conditioner and heavier moisturizers have been able to solve the first two, but what about the latter? Until I tried Solar Oil, I wasn't able to figure out a damn thing to do with my poor nails. They're always looking flaky and dried-out! Now, every night before I go to bed I swipe some of the good-smelling stuff onto my nails. It makes my nails feel awesome and they're super-moisturized and pretty-looking all day. I am a woman who likes to keep her nails groomed. Even though I use clear polish, my nails have to be perfectly shaped and cleaned. So hangnails kind of ruin that look. This stuff works.

  • Nars Orgasm Blush, $20. I can tell you right now, as a true testimony, why this stuff is so amazing! It's because people of all skintones can wear it--it's universally flattering! For me it give off a really peachy glow that I adore--I'll definitely be taking this with me when I go to Jamaica next month! Believe me--if you're so over your old blush, try this. It. Will. Change. Your. Life.

I hope you guys keep the comments coming, even though I've moved my site! I love your bloggership! And I'd love it if you posted some of your favorite products.

Ta-ta,
Brittney

Welcome to Makeup Your Mind!

If you liked Lipgloss, Bronzer, and Liner, Oh My! then you'll love my new blog. NOTE: Do not get a bitchy roommate. They will pour water all over you and delete your beloved blog. Anyway, everything's the same except the name and whatnot. I hope I get the same old fanbase that was starting to grow. And for newbies, my blog is beauty, fashion, pop culture, and anything else girly at its best! I'll be working on my page a lot to make it just as good (or even better) than LBLOM, but I'm still going to miss it!

Once again: Do not get a bitchy roommate.
